The Empi Dupel iontophoresis system provides health care professionals with an alternative to injections for administering drugs. Since its introduction in 1992, the Dupel system has been preferred by more clinicians than any other iontophoresis system. The easy-to-use system has contributed to the growth in the use of iontophoresis for physical rehabilitation. The Dupel system has also been used in sports medicine and anesthesiology among other health care specialties.
The Dupel system consists of:
A patented device that generates a controlled, direct current stimulus
Lead wires that connect the device and electrodes
The Dupel iontophoresis system features:
Microprocessor-controlled, two-channel device: Allows for flexibility in treatment options. The clinician can treat two different sites or use two different drug solutions.
Ease-of-use: The Dupel system can be operated by ancillary staff under the direction of a physician. To operate the clinician fills the reservoir of the conductive, active electrode with the selected drug.
