Turbocast-Original
Turbocast-Original is an opaque thermoplastic layer bonded on either side with a thin foam.
Turbocast-Original has tremendous features and advantages:
• Due to its special surface, Turbocast-Original cools down fast
• Turbocast-Original is easy to cut and shape. No pattern is necessary
• Its special coating makes it adhere only when the user wishes it to do so and allows the material to stay in place more
easily than smooth thermoplastics
• Due to its exceptional anatomical properties, Turbocast-Original follows the exact contours of the treated surface
• After application, Turbocast-Original transforms into a tough hard splint that doesn’t need reinforcing
• It possesses a full plastic memory, which really works
• The material is stretchy, but does not overstretch, to provide a wide range of splinting applications
Four types are available: plain, micro, mini and multi-perforated, all offered in various thicknesses and colors.
Applications
- 1/32” (micro-perforated and plain): a unique way to protect and immobilize small injuries and fractures.
- 1/16” (micro-perforated and plain): suited for small shapes such as finger splints, finger slings or splints for children.
Smaller thicknesses are useful for Rheumatoid patients because of the lightness.
- 3/32” (mini, multi-perforated and plain): suited for arm and upper extremity splints.
- 1/8” (mini, multi-perforated and plain): suited for fracture braces and sports guards.
- 5/32” (mini-perforated and plain): suited for back supports and lower extremity splints.
